Charlotte Academy of Music is proud to be the home of the Charlotte Glee Club! This show choir, under the direction of Alexandra Sims, is comprised of students ages 13-18. Students meet each week for a 90 minute Singing and Choreography class. Emphasis is placed on developing proper vocal technique, sight-reading skills, overall musicianship and stage presence. Students perform throughout the Charlotte area. Our Glee Camps were featured in news segments and in newspaper articles during the summer. The Associated Press visited the Academy and this story ran nation-wide, including ABC News! Read the AP article by Seanna Adcox here >

charlotte glee club fundraising concert
The Charlotte Glee Club presented a fundraising concert at MorningStar Presbyterian Church on March 10th. All proceeds go towards the ensemble's spring Show Choir Competition held at Carowinds. Music performed at the concert included selections by artists such as Jason Mraz, Colbie Caillat, Bruno Mars, Rascal Flatts and more!

In May the Charlotte Glee Club performed in the Carowinds Festival of Music in the Show Choir division. They were awarded a rating of "Excellent" and received a ribbon and critique from a distinguished panel of judges. Congratulations, Glee Club!
